SEABURNERS (Melisa Önel, 2014)

A 2014 fictional film directed by Melisa Önel, SEABURNERS tells the story of Hamit, who engages in “human smuggling” between the haunted neighborhoods of Istanbul and a poor border town on the Black Sea coast, not far from the city. The film draws attention to the issue of human smuggling, which does not lose its currency even today, and the story of the immigrants who lost their lives on this risky journey.
